If you have been a resident of NJ for the past 18 months and are residing in the USA and are unemployed at the moment, you may be able to file a claim for your unemployment insurance benefits. In order to be able to file a claim for your unemployment insurance benefits you must have lived in NJ for the past 18 months. You must have also worked in NJ during that time. Also you must not have worked for the Federal Government during that time nor could you have been enlisted in the Armed forces. You must not have worked as a Maritime employee during that time.


In order for you to claim your unemployment benefits you will need to file a claim for them. You can do this by visiting the Unemployment office, over the phone or by going online. To file a unemployment insurance benefits claim you will need to fill in details about yourself like your Name, date of birth, social security number, Name, address and telephone number of your employer in the past 18 months. You will also have to fill in your beginning of employment date as well as your end of employment date. You will also have to give the reason for your present unemployment.
